Epsom Salt Exposed
Salt (sodium chloride) is more complex than it seems, it can have chemicals added to it, and very frequently does, without the name changing. Salts traditionally used in bath salts include dendritic salt and Epsom salt (magnesium sulphate). However, both these salts are actually “manufactured”. Dendritic salt has an acid added to the sodium chloride to encourage the crystals to form star shapes, long desired by bath salt makers because essential oils can easily adhere to these stars, unlike cube shaped crystals. Epsom salt, once mined as a naturally occurring material, is now created in the laboratory as a chemical by-product.
